The 2022 National Research Conference on Firearm Injury Prevention focused on highlighting the current state of the science and research on firearm injury prevention across the lifespan.
The conference was co-organized by the University of Michigan, the RAND Corporation, and Columbia University.
On the last day of the conference, co-organizers announced the formation of the Research Society for the Prevention of Firearm-Related Harms. The purpose of this new Society is to promote and support rigorous research and the evaluation of evidence-based practices to prevent firearm-related harms across the life course. The Society will also organize and manage future conferences.
