U-M’s Institute for Firearm Injury Prevention is recruiting individuals to participate in a research study (HUM00237590) about the availability and convenience of resources to dispose of unwanted firearms.

This study will assist in the development of sustainable firearm disposal facility prototypes that can be installed and secured in public places. We are aiming to bring together people with different experiences and perspectives on firearm safety and injury prevention. Selected individuals will be invited to actively participate in a workshop to share about their personal experiences and beliefs concerning the need for firearm disposal facilities and insights into practical challenges and the design and technological solutions.

Workshops will be held in person in Ann Arbor, Michigan this December and are anticipated to be approximately six hours. Participants will receive a $200 gift card at the end of the workshop.

Learn more about this research project and indicate your interest in participation by completing a brief online interest survey as soon as possible. Completing the interest survey does not enroll you in this study.
