Brian Stork, M.D., FACS

Dr. Stork is a community urologist in Muskegon, Michigan, and an Assistant Clinical Professor in the Department of Urology at the University of Michigan. He practices general urology with a special interest in urinary stone disease and benign and malignant conditions of the kidney, bladder, and prostate.

His work extends beyond clinical care and focuses on addressing the impact of community and gun violence on the physical and mental health of youth. He has made youth and gun violence prevention the focus of his research, community service, and advocacy efforts, with an emphasis on developing and implementing evidence-based interventions to improve community health and safety.

Through this work, he has developed collaborative partnerships with community leaders, the Michigan Youth Violence Prevention Center, and the University of Michigan Institute for Firearm Injury Prevention. His current clinical research focuses on the implementation of SafERteens, an evidence-based youth violence prevention program, in local emergency departments and other sites throughout West Michigan.

In addition, he serves on the Michigan Department of Health and Human Services Community Violence Intervention Advisory Council and the Michigan State Medical Society Board of Directors, where he is actively involved in advocacy efforts to improve the health and safety of patients and communities.
