Briana Mezuk, PhD

Briana Mezuk is a Professor of Epidemiology at the University of Michigan School of Public Health, co-Director of the Data & Design Core of the Eisenberg Family Depression Center, and a faculty affiliate with the Research Center for Group Dynamics at the Institute for Social Research. Her program of research is broadly interested in the predictors and consequences of mental disorders and related behaviors over the life course. She has led projects examining the relationship between depression and risk, and management, of type 2 diabetes; psychosocial determinants of suicide; and the relationship between mental health and cognitive aging. She is also a committed mentor to early-career scholars, and is the founding Director of the Michigan Integrative Well-Being and Inequality (MIWI) Training Institute and co-directs the Interdisciplinary Research Training in Health and Aging (IRTHA) T32 program.
