Barriers and facilitators to adolescent use of technology-facilitated reporting systems

Institute Project
Outline of State of Missouri

The primary aims of this pilot study are to 1.) identify the types of firearm-related concerns or events that youth would want to use a TFRS, 2.) understand contexts around a firearm-related concern that would lead students to not use a TFRS, and 3.) unpack how these preferences and considerations differ by the gender of the person submitting the tip and the gender of the person the tip is about. These aims do not overlap with our funded project and information from these three aims is a critical first step in understanding where gaps in reporting through TFRS may exist and opportunities for tailoring these systems or training around these systems to fill those gaps.
