The Institute for Firearm Injury Prevention researchers at the University of Michigan respond to the school shooting at Robb Elementary School in Uvalde, Texas on May 24, 2022 which killed 19 students and 2 teachers.

Resources highlighting key areas of support for communities after a school shooting event are available from The Institute for Firearm Injury Prevention in collaboration with the National Center for School Safety. U-M experts are also available to discuss school prevention and community aftermath in the wake of the shootings in Uvalde.

New federal data analyzed by researchers at the University of Michigan and published in the New England Journal of Medicine shows that firearms are the leading cause of death for children in the United States.
