The Peoples Action is a Detroit based grassroots resident driven organization dedicated to improving the lives of poor Detroiters, through advocacy and direct programming efforts in five key areas: Community Development, Direct Resources, Basic Needs, Community Advocacy and Safety. Their five focuses fall under their program called Adopt The Block.
Adopt The Block’s mission is to build a safe thriving community by partnering with residents through participatory practices which will increase their level of engagement in their own neighborhoods, while becoming active in solving community problems.
